CAR KEY HELP · FORD
A Ford spare-key appointment begins with a useful advantage: at least one key may still start the vehicle. If every usable key is missing, say so at the start of the call. The number and type of keys remaining help determine what needs to be checked.
A cut blade and a coded key have different roles
Ford’s glossary describes SecuriLock as a system using a coded key programmed to the vehicle. Where such a system is fitted, mechanical cutting alone is not the whole starting-key task. That description is not a universal programming procedure for every Ford; model year, vehicle equipment and the current key system still matter.

Count the working keys accurately
Tell us which keys actually start the vehicle, rather than counting every remote or blade in the drawer. Mention whether a remote only unlocks the doors or whether an old aftermarket key is untested. A photograph can help identify the style, but share the year and model as well. Keep functioning keys available for the service discussion.
Before ordering a replacement
Ask whether the quote includes a cut key, electronic work and the remote functions you need. A new spare should be checked for its agreed functions. For an all-keys-lost situation in Wilmington or Leland, provide the actual parking location, a callback number and authorization for the vehicle so mobile availability can be reviewed.
Discuss the vehicle with Prime Sec
Browse Car Key Help by make, see our car key replacement guide or find your service location. Call with the vehicle details to confirm the available work.
